How to Login to CHARMS Blue on a Smart Device

  1. Log in to CHARMS
    1. Download and open the CHARMS Blue App
    2. Enter the school code: cincoranchchoir
    3. Enter your password. If you don’t remember it, try your student ID with a capital letter, then a lowercase letter, then try other passwords you may have changed it to. If you still can’t remember it, we can reset it to your ID with a capital letter. Send an email to DorothyJWilson@katyisd.org or MelaniePPiche@katyisd.org.
  2. Prompt to Change PW
    1. If it prompts you to change your password, but you would rather keep it as your student ID to remember easily, click the three lines in the top right corner for navigation.
    2. If you do want to change your password, do so now. Then, click the three lines in the top right corner for navigation.
    3. If it does not prompt you to change your password, click the three lines at the top right corner for navigation. From here, you can navigate to wherever you like!

How to Login to CHARMS Legacy on a Computer

  1. Log in to CHARMS
    1. Click “Login” at the top right corner.
    2. Select “Parents/Students/Members”.
    3. Enter the school code: cincoranchchoir
    4. Enter your password. If you don’t remember it, try your student ID with a capital letter, then a lowercase letter, then try other passwords you may have changed it to. If you still can’t remember it, we can reset it to your ID with a capital letter. Send an email to DorothyJWilson@katyisd.org or MelaniePPiche@katyisd.org.
  2. Prompt to Change PW
    1. It will prompt you to change your password. Be sure you change it to a password to share with your parents. Then, click the circle HOME icon in the top left corner.
    2. If it does not prompt you to change your password, click the circle HOME icon in the top left corner. From here, you can navigate to wherever you like!

How to Update Information in CHARMS Blue on a Smart Device

  1. Log in to CHARMS (see log in tab for directions)
  2. Update Info
    1. From the three lines on the top right of the page, click My Profile.
  3. Enter Student Information
    1. Student First and Last Name
    2. Address
    3. Phone Number
    4. Student Email
    5. When finished, click Save Profile at the very bottom
  4. Enter Adult Information
    1. Click Edit Adults at the top right.
    2. If there is no adult listed, click Add Adult and add the information
      1. Adult First and Last Name
      2. Phone Number
      3. Address
      4. Parent Email
      5. When finished, click Add Adult Information at the very bottom
      6. Click the back button and start back at number 3 if you want to add another
    3. If there is already an adult or two listed, select their name to be sure the information is up to date and accurate.

      3. Address
      4. Parent Email
      5. When finished, click Update Adult Information at the very bottom

How to Update Information in CHARMS Legacy on a Computer

    1. From the tiles on the home page, click Update Info.
  3. Enter Student Information
    1. Student First and Last Name
    2. Address
    3. Phone Number
    4. Student Email
    5. When finished, click “Update” in the top right corner
  4. Enter Adult Information
    1. If there is no adult listed, click “Add New Adult” and add the information
      1. Adult First and Last Name
      2. Phone Number
      3. Address
      4. Parent Email
      5. When finished, click “Update” in the top right corner
    2. If there is already an adult or two listed, click “First name Last name’s Information” to be sure the information is up to date and accurate.

How to Record

How to Record in CHARMS Blue on a Smart Device

  1. Log in to CHARMS Blue (see log in tab for directions)
  2. Recording Studio
    1. From the three lines menu at the top left, click Recording Studio.
  3. View Assignments
    1. From the icons on the bottom of the screen, click the second from the left icon that looks like a piece of paper. This is where you can see assignments for your class.
  4. Select Assignment
    1. Click the red dot for the assignment you need to complete. It should be at the top under “to do”. You may see assignments you previously completed under “completed”.
  5. Instructions
    1. Read the instructions on what to do for the assignment. It may give specific instructions, such as when or if you play a pitch on the piano or whether or not you need to sing a tonic triad before you begin.
  6. Record & Submit
    1. Press the red button when you are ready to record.
    2. Sing.
    3. When you are finished, press the stop button. You can listen back to your recording if you like.
    4. Next, click the check mark.
    5. It prompts you to change the file name. DO NOT CHANGE THE FILE NAME. When you submit, your name will automatically appear. If you change the assignment name, it will not submit where we will see it. If you MUST change the file name, try to make it match the original assignment title.
      1. If, for some reason, it will not allow you to submit without altering the file name, name it according to the assignment and let your lead teacher know that you changed it.
    6. Instead of changing the file name, click the check mark again.
  7. My Recordings
    1. It takes you to a page where you see all your previous recordings. You did it!
    2. If you need to re-do it, click the trash can to delete. Start over at number 2.

How to Record in CHARMS Legacy on a Computer

  1. Log in to CHARMS (see log in tab for directions)
  2. Recording Studio
    1. From the tiles on the home page, click Recording Studio.
  3. Microphone
    1. If prompted, enable your microphone.
  4. View Assignments
    1. From the green buttons on the right of the screen, click the button that says Assignments. This is where you can see assignments for your class.
  5. Select Assignment
    1. Select the assignment you need to complete.
  6. Instructions
    1. Read the instructions on what to do for the assignment. It may give specific instructions, such as when or if you play a pitch on the piano or whether or not you need to sing a tonic triad before you begin.
  7. Record & Submit
    1. Press the red button when you are ready to record.
    2. Sing.
    3. When you are finished, press the red stop button. You can listen back to your recording if you like.
    4. If you are satisfied with your recording, click the green button that says “Save Take #”.
  8. Uploaded Recordings
    1. If you scroll all the way down, you should see it uploaded under Uploaded Recordings. You did it!
    2. If you need to re-do it, click the red X on the right to delete and start over.
